For centuries, Celle was a major centre of power and culture in the North. Numerous buildings are evidence of this, one example being the regal residential palace. Today, the cultivation of old traditions, together with modern urban life, join to create the attraction of the city. It is high season here all year round from the wine market and the parade of the stallions, through to jazz and sports events. Great stay, nice friendly staff, however, arriving at noon we were told we would have to come back after 2pm, disappointed we could not be offer a rest room as travelling with my frail 82 yr old father. Also, requested rooms side by side if poss, but were told this could not be done and I was put in the last room at one end on floor two, and he was put in the last room at the complete opposite end on floor three. Given I arrived at 12 noon with this request, I would have thought this could perhaps be looked into, but I was meant with a very blunt, one word answer of 'no' with no sorry.

On the plus side, I could not get into my room with either key card, went down to reception who gave me more and could not get in with them either.... on third attempt a male member of staff came with us, could not apologise enough for this problem and was so so friendly and asked if there was anything else he could do, and to let him know if we needed assistance with anything else during our stay. His personality was a great asset to the hotel.
